That was the reply I gave yesterday to someone who suggested that, in the eyes of doctors, I must appear somewhat eccentric, since I may look in excellent shape yet still have goals to pursue.
Let us be clear from the outset: this is not about perfectionism, which I do not embrace in my life. To clients who returned from their holidays concerned because they had noticed a change in the mirror or on the scales, I offered reassurance and clarity. A body accustomed to healthy nutrition and regular training recovers quickly, unless complications arise that require medical attention. If you follow good habits consistently, even at 80 per cent, you can enjoy life while still reaching your goals—you have therefore succeeded without undue stress.
My approach to life is rooted in a refusal to settle. If my potential can lead me to greater heights, why should I deliver less than I am capable of? I do not even know exactly how far I can go, because our potential expands as we approach its fullest expression.
I value and appreciate all that I have achieved—personally, mentally, and materially. I am content and grateful for my results. However, this does not mean I settle when I know I can express myself and perform even better, continue to grow, and rise higher. This sense of curiosity, this “hunger”, constantly drives me to seek and to evolve. At times I make mistakes, at times I stumble—I am human—but I always move forward again, and that process is profoundly rewarding.
To those who feel anxious about results not yet achieved, or about having taken a few steps back, I would suggest taking a deep breath. Nothing is lost, and there is still time. There is always time, because every day is worth living to the fullest, even the very last. Decide what you no longer wish to be, how you want to feel and live, who you wish to become as a human being, and what potential you intend to express now and in the future. Align yourself with that energy and create an action plan. Then act upon it with consistency.
For those who recognise this and aspire to it, but do not know how or struggle to do so alone, I would recommend booking a consultation in order to be guided and supported in moving to the next level. The greatest minds have always had trusted professionals to accompany them on their path
