When in doubt wear red

I live in a city where nothing goes unnoticed, so when I decided to wear a red skirt this morning, paired with a cream top, tights and boots, I knew I wouldn’t exactly blend in. Some people looked at me with admiration, others with a hint of envy at my boldness, and a few with a critical eye.

But anyone who knows me understands that I don’t dress for others—I dress for myself. I use colour in clothing just as I do in every other aspect of life, because colours are a feast for the eyes, and when our senses are positively stimulated, weare too.

One day, a complete stranger told me that just seeing how I was dressed had made his day! Personal style—that special touch only you can give because it reflects your personality, your character, your creativity—makes everything more beautiful. From the clothes you wear and how you wear them, to a beautifully set table, to the way you decorate your home, how and what you cook, how you do your job, how you interact with people, and how you solve problems… standing out matters. Not to feel superior to others, but because the world we all share is far more beautiful when it’s not monotonous, but diverse, well cared for, and original.

The quote I shared reminds us of this—of standing out without fear. Many people were raised to believe they shouldn’t draw attention to themselves, for fear of seeming arrogant or presumptuous. But shining in your own light and not being afraid to be different isn’t arrogance—it’s self-acceptance, self-love, and the courage to express yourself.

So when in doubt… wear red. It’s also a fabulous mood booster! 😉🔥🍾
